I think who ever wrote this posses a short memory, how can you forget our greatest test match against SA. Rather than talents and skills, players attitudes under Dimuth’s captaincy. Did you see anybody depressed? You were talking about Dikka and Tharanga with all outdated tools of measurements. Best thing to do as a Sri Lankan is to pray for the selected players and worship your idol Dikka in your secret prayer room.

I suggest we got to change our approach. We need to try and build the pressure on the opposit. That’s what Bangladesh did to SA.

If we play defensive cricket in this high scoring era anyway we are going to loose. Therefore Kusal P needs to open with Dimuth. What will happen if it becomes one of his glorious days. If we loose an early wicket bring in Thirimanne if not Kusal M can continue the good work done by openers.

Also a word about Matthews he faced 9 balls without scoring and got out for a duck. Why can’t he start with singles without waiting for loose balls to score boundaries. He was doing the same thing before he got dropped. After his comeback he was getting his singles and moving the score until he got a good eye on the ball to play his shots. Now again he has gone back to getting bogged down and ultimately loosing his wicket after wasting good number of balls. Why don’t anybody from the management tell him that he is more valuable than that. Just take singles and keep the scoreboard moving until you get eye/loose balls so that no pressure will buildup on Matthews or the team.

Excellent selection. One suggestion is if Dimuth gets out first Lahiru should come and if Janith gets out first K Mendis should come.

Please bring in Lakmal, Dimuth, Dasun and Embuldeniya for the World Cup.

Great idea. Dimuth is the best to open and anchor and also to Captain as Malinga is isolated, no body looks supporting him.

I strongly believe Dimith should open in ODI and be the captain. The newest trend is we are getting all out in 30 some overs. Dimuth can steady the ininings. Malinga is not the same now, although he bowls averagely has shown nothing as a leader. There was a huge difference when Dimuth was leading the team in the field and when Malinga was leading. We are waisting a valuable resource by not playing Dimuth and frustration is growing with each and every ODI. Also if Dananjaya de Silva can play as a batsman I don’t see why Dimuth cannot.
Another suggestion is bring in Dasun who can hit sixes at will. Thisara will have a partner down the order to share responsibilities like they did some time a go. He also can bowl few overs. Embuldeniya is also need to join the ODI team as soon as he is medically fit. All in all will make a great combination.
