I hope all the clowns at SLC board learn from England and build a team for the 2023 WC as of now! We are in the same position England were in 2015, so it’s more than possible to do the same, especially since the 2023 WC is India (Similar to home conditions).

But something deep down tells me that this won’t happen because corruption is hard-cored into our DNA and our batch of young players are incredibly unprofessional both on and off the field!

Just look at our current young players that are likely to be apart of that 2023 WC: Kusal Mendis, D De Silva, Dickwella, Gunathilaka, Sadeera, Vandersay, Avishka, Sandakan, Dasun Shanaka, Chameera. Funnily enough, these 10 or so players are all part of a drinking, partying, immature, showing-off culture that is incredibly disappointing! I seriously hope that either our cricket board can discipline them or that they either grow up and start playing for their country instead of going on shopping and holiday trips every 2-3 months using the general public’s money!

Grow the fuck up you bunch of tarts!

Definitely time to get rid of this half baked all rounder! I mean what has Thisara done in the past 5-6 years? A chancy 80 vs Bangladesh in 2013 (dropped atleast 3 times in that knock), even the 140 he made against NZ (in a losing cause), he was dropped several times. Other than those 2 knocks, he has made no significant performances!

With the ball he is pathetic! He was lucky Jimmy Neesham didn’t smash him for over 36+ in that over he bowled! Not a single match winning performance other than one or two good spells vs Bangladesh back in the 2017/18 series.

The less said about his fielding is better! Dont’t want to mention the 2017 Champions trophy again but… even this world cup, see how he dropped that catch vs WI off Malinga’s bowling? Poor concentration and skills on the field too.

He brings such a negative mood to the team! With his constant scolding of younger players ect.. Just a waste of space! Not just Thisara, it’s time SL chucked out all the half baked allrounders (Siriwardana, Jeevan Mendis, Thisara, Shehan Jayasuriya ) and invest in proper bowlers and batsmen!

Give both Avishka and Kusal Mendis a proper long run without dropping them or giving them extra responsibilities (Vice captaincy ect..), otherwise they will turn into the Chandimal/Thirimanne of today in a few years time. Both Kusal Mendis and Avishka have the potential to really sort out our middle order woes! Look after them well.

Dickwella deserves all the flak he can get! Dickwella is a below average wicketkeeper batsmen, that lacks discipline and concentration. His big mouth behind the stumps is one of the key areas that break the team’s “togetherness”. How many times does he intervene when the captain makes a field change? How many times does he many inappropriate comments behind the stumps? Any one heard when he said “Baenappung oota” when DDS got Phelukhwayo out in the 1st T20I? Why? What’s the point of that? Anyway most people in SL already know he is a “kudu karayek” anyway. I hope he gets the sacks, we have so many wicketkeepers in our squad anyway. K Mendis is probably better off taking the gloves.
