Gladiators seek Sarfraz’s replacement in LPL

KARACHI: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has issued No Objection Certificates (NOC) to all Galle Gladiators players, to feature in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) starting from November 26th 2020 in Hambantota.

However, the regular captain of the Galle Gladiators, Sarfraz Ahmed will miss the event due to the national commitment therefore the management, of the Galle Gladiators, has sought right-handed batsman Ahsan Ali as the replacement for the wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed.

Ahsan Ali, 26, is a top-order batsman, played a couple of T20 internationals for Pakistan along with 50 T20 games.

The other Pakistan players in the Galle Gladiators are allrounder Shahid Khan Afridi, batsman Azam Khan and left-arm paceman Mohammad Amir.

Five teams – Colombo Kings, Dambulla Hawks, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Stallions and Kandy Tuskers – will compete for the LPL title for which the final encounter is scheduled on December 16th.
