  • Sorry for replying you in English (I am living in Canada, therefore not familiar on sinhala typing). Yes Banuka should be continued in the team for the 3rd match as well as 3 T20 matches. He is the most suitable investment SLC can do to fill the no 3 position in both ODI and T20 ,formats. If you look at Englans, India, NZ, WI & Australia teams they have a power hitting batter in the top order (1,2 or 3 positions). Reason is if that batter can hit sixes effortlessly and exploit the vacant field restrictions in the initial overs at the end of 10/15 overs there will be a very healthy RR (like 6 to 7 runs an over) which will be very useful for the no4,5 &6 middle order batters to score occasional boundaries and build up a good total. WE had Sanath J in the past to do that job. Only Dasun & Kamindu are the other two batters (apart from Bhanuka) who are able to do that. But both of them are lacking in past experience in batting in the top order. I am sure within the next 4 matches Bhanuka

  • Yes, we can give another few chances to Bhanuka (to gain experience) since we are looking for the 2023 world cup. However, I believe he should bat down the order to find his form and move Asalanka up in order. We need good inform batsmen at no. 3 and who can play according to any situation. Otherwise, fall of quick 2, 3 wickets creates unnecessary pressure on middle and lower-order batters.
