Yes Hathurusinghe didn’t live up to the expectations ( or to the money spend on him ), but I don’t think he did that poorly like people tend to believe. When he was started, team lacked consistency ( 40 odd players were in and out of the team ). So he selected a group of players who he thought (at that moment many thought including those online/fb selecters) would perform in the future with bit of experience. Unfortunately they never did. For me there is nothing a coach can do in such situations.
So now rather than sacking him ( because we will never be able to hire a international standard coach any time soon or even a good county coach) SLC should give him another set of players and ask to rebuild the team.

ughhh not this again !!! Don’t know why selectors back him this much he is not even a youngster.
Even milinda’s inclusion is not ideal, there are plenty of young talent in country suited for test cricket !!!
(Pathum Nissanka, Kamindu Mendis, Angelo Perera etc.)

@confused I know 20 overs from all rounders is a huge risk (BTW there are 5 options to use) but (may be i’ll look stupid after i say this) I really really really don’t see that much of a difference between our allrounders and front line bowlers (In this squad apart from malinga) against a good bating unit in a flat track !!!!!

SLC desperately need some young blood with fresh minds just like our country ! Having said that the chances of actually happening this is almost zero, that’s the sad reality.

*Have a strong feeling that Roshen Silva’s batting technique is not suitable for pace and bounce ( I’m not a technical expert btw) , although he is one of the few players in our squad with test match temperament !
*Lakshan Sandakan has to increase his consistency (line and Length) drastically to even play test let alone playing as the only front line spinner.
*What about Kamindu Mendis, kid got a reasonable technique and can bowl with both arms plus a fine fielder and still 20. Give him some time and exposure,it’ll be like having 3 players in one spot !!!
