  • Sri Lanka definitely missing
Sri Lanka definitely missing an X factor when it comes down to the bowling. Which they need to search for before the world cup commence. It’s not lasith malinga, it’s not akila dananjaya. it need to be someone new. Maybe Kevin kothigoda but will he be consistent enough? or else the return of tharindu Kaushal. The problem with him is that he is inconsistent and his doosra banned just marginally by 2 or 1 degree.but he can spin the ball better than any spin bowler in the world. Or else It’s the time to identify a new branch of unorthodox bowlers. There are plenty of them. All what need it’s identify those talents and groom them and introduce them as a surprise weapon in the world cup.
In batting point of view Sri Lanka need a stable top order and resistant and aggressive middle order and decent contribution from the lower order and the tailenders. But currently the batting of Sri Lanka team is inconsistent main reason for that.
1 most of the Sri lankan Batsmans are lbw candidates. That is a bad thing especially subcontinent cricketers always good of playing against the ball that comes in from a fast bowler(inswinger and nip in) or from a wrist spinner(googly). But unfortunately lot of Sri Lankan Batsmans having that issue. Including kusal mendis, Dinesh chandimal, Angelo Mathews, dasun shanaka. It is time to them to figure out what are the technical adjustment they need to make to counter this issue.
2 changing the batting position of cricketers
3 poor eye contact between the batsman when they running between the wicket.
4 lack of batting strategy. Which bowler to target and against which bowler to play sensibly.
Bright side of the Sri Lankan team is only Dhananjaya Silva. The way he bat, bowl and field. You can see that he definitely give his 100 best to win the match. Now this type of cricketers what Sri Lankan cricket need if they want to revive the cricket again.
