  • Dear Angry and Annoyed Sri
Dear Angry and Annoyed Sri Lankan cricket fans,

Lets get one thing straight and out of the way. Our Sri Lankan team is not destined for any ICC trophy any time soon. I hope you guys understand the word “transition”. if you don’t, let me explain; means rebuilt, gain experience, gain confidence and get international exposure to compete. Chandimal and Thirimanna are our hopes down the road. Their aren’t any player in Sri Lanka at the moment who has the international experience these two blokes have. All players hit rough patches, you work your behind off, and you move past it. When Ishant Sharma was yapping his mouth in our home soil, who stood up to him?, Thiri, Prasad and Chandi, shows the guts and love for the team, the boys have in them. It’s just a matter of time till they take off. So all you Chandi and Thiri haters get real would you!!!!!!!. Dilshan Munaweera is explosive and he hasn’t been given any chance at all. Why NOT try him? Im not saying put him to the test team, but try him in ODI’s and T20, he plays domestic cricket Internationally as well. All we do is give chances to dead beat, washed up players like Mubarak, Tharanga etc and their is nothing extra ordinary about Angelo Perera. We can’t just pick players from the ‘good for nothing’ Domestic Circuit. For the national team, selectors should recruit players from Sri Lanka A team, and Develop the current Top contracted players with exposing them to lots of International Cricket. Mantra is simple, they just have to execute, But that is all what They are not doing.

  • I see some valid points here,
I see some valid points here, But I still believe we can choke New Zealand with spin bowling, Rangana and Sachitra is a must. If everyone think Chandimal is a much valid option than Jeevan, I have no reason to think otherwise, Chandimal is a solid batsmen and lots of talent. We could use him, but where? he is most effective at 3,4 and 5. Are we going to send him above Sanga, Mahela and Angie. Does he have the big hitting ability for a quick 20 or 25 from 8 to 10 balls which Jeevan Mendis have? if everyone thinks it’s doable then I got no prob with Chandi over Mendis. But I don’t agree with dropping a spinner to go with a mediocre fast bowler like Prasad or Lakmal to prove a point. Because we can only prove the point with Spin, New Zealand struggles against spin. They struggle twice the amount against Herath, their never comfortable with Sachitra. Why play Lakmal who went for 85 in 10 over in Dunedin or Prasad whos just been nothing but below average over the 2 spinners who constantly gave New Zealand batting line up headaches, Now you have got to kidding me!!!!!!!!! @ #2

  • Comment 2: Look Man, I feel
Comment 2: Look Man, I feel for Chandimal, I really do. But I don’t care about what he used to be, I care about what he is now. Chandimal did play a lot of games in the New Zealand tour, maybe two games less than Jeevan Mendis. Im going to stick out my neck to Jeevan Mendis here because I would rather take a gamble with an allrounder who can do a bit of both, rather than a guy who can just bat and score nothing, it’s just a maybe tho. I’ve also seen the catches Jeevan Mendis has taken, and their pretty darn good too. So their is nothing to differentiate between the fielding of the two players.

Comment 1: The point being, Southee is fast and bowls pretty well. Well, we can take a gamble between Jeevan and Dhammika, but I still believe we can choke New Zealand with Spin.
