  • Seriously, | don’t know what
Seriously, | don’t know what the sri lanka cricket authorities are upto who didn’t even bother paying SL test cricketers their wages because of financial corruption and white elephants. They price out the locals. Then notify England’s travelling support of the price hike after they land in Sri Lanka.

With the result that a surreal atmosphere is created in Sri Lanka’s Galle Stadium resembles a neutral venue with the majority of the crowd supporting Eng. No locals the balance out the Eng support. I don’t know about you, but I really enjoy a stadium full of Sri Lankan locals backing Sri Lanka. It makes for great viewing on your tv set, unfortunately because of the SLC the locals have been priced out. Creating a great atmosphere for Sri lankan cricketers to thrive in. Like what happens at the R.Premadasa occasionally and the at the World Cup QF 2011 in March last year against England. Majority SL locals. I know test cricket is not as popular however. Sri Lankan cricket should have done everything in its power to entice as many locals as possible to at least give us viewers an impression that the game is indeed being played in Sri Lanka and not at a neutral venue.

SLC to blame who are jeopardising the success of the Sri Lankan team at the altar of the bottom line. Heaven knows what the Sri Lankan batsman must have thought as they went out to bat wondering wether they were playing in Sri Lanka or somewhere else. No wonder Sri Lanka had such a disastrous start. If the ground had at least 70 percent SL support maybe Sri Lanka would have been better off than they are currently thank to Mahela Jayawardena. At last years QF WC in Colombo there was 95 percent locals turned up. Result a superb atmosphere was created by passionate Sri Lankan fans, which no doubt gave the Sri Lankan batters a much needed boost to their performance. They won by a whopping Ten wickets!

SLC officials are ruining Sri Lanka succes because they are money hungry and corrupt, hence the reason we see the locals priced out of the game. Arjuna Ranatunga who claims to put the game first should have stepped in before the test series started regarding cricket prices. As the commenter above said why doesn’t Arjuna tell anything about his bro. Is people like Arjuna Ranatunga serious about helping Sri Lanka cricket or helping themselves?
