    When new selection committee was appointed just one day before the dead line announced it it is clear they only had on in intention that is to draft in Thrimanna who is struggling to form an who has never comfortable even to score run a ball to include in to ever demanding T20 world cup. Then he was included to occupy vital no 3 position every time first wicket is felt there is failure to progress SriLankan inning and players who come latter has to do a rebuilding job rather acceleration loosing vital time. Even after they show there plane is doomed they refuse to back off and made changes only to safeguard his position disregarding team balance. The excuse given is “we have invested so much in Thiramanna therefor we have to use him” my question is do you hang on to your unprofitable investment when your life is in stack. Selection committee headed by Aravinda never had any time to study and make decisions there for we have to believe they were drafted in to make decisions that some high authority wanted. Aravinda,Sangakara and Kaluvitharana all three we have high regard there for at least hear after make sure there is a good selection criteria for selection drooping and comeback opportunities based on there performances and a criteria which is not neglecting the performance in local tournament even though we don’t have best first class structure that is only we have until it is restructured players has to come through it.

    This video must be viewed by modern day captain to see how the inexperienced captain of those days set attacking fielding for spin bowlers and always look for wickets ware is modern day so cold experience captain go defending from ball one and so afraid to give away few boundaries in order to buy a wicket.

    I can’t remember but I can remember last game Thrimana played for his club and scored 60 odd his team lossed and a upcoming youngster playing opposite team SSC and scored 40 odd runs his team won. The point is Thiri take too many balls to his inning take off and it deprive his team to score it’s maximum potential in 20 over the same time it forces player in other end to take undue risk and loss his wicket. Any player who has such batting routine and inability at least rotate strike, early in his inning is not suitable to represent the country in T20 game.

  • Any one who has a little
    Any one who has a little sense will never include Thrimanna in T20 squad.
    My suggestion is Danushka,Dilshan,Jayasuriya,Chandimal,Mathews,Siriwardana,Munaweera,Vithanage, Dananjaya Silva, Malinga, Prasad, Kulasekara, Dasun shanaka, Jeffry,Lakshan Sandakan.
