  • the picture tells the story
the picture tells the story of the evolution of the great Malinga in synonymous with cricket starting his test career in whites he ends up in t20 colors ….hair as well as kit…so is cricket

in the process he made millions…who can blame him…cricketers, have a short earnings windows, specially fast bowlers

  • Hi Natz you are
    Hi Natz you are absolutely
Once Michael Atherton asked Russell this question
“what is the reaction in the Sri Lankan dressing room on the selection of Sanath Jayasuriya for just one ODI?”

Now this is a politically loaded question. This is a doosra question. How to play this? What ever answer Russell gives he will be in trouble either with the Sri Lankan team members or with the Sri Lankan cricket establishment.

Now mind you Russell is in the commentry box not because he is a good commentator but as an reference point to give player analysis of Sri Lankan playeras especially new and upcoming stars. So Russy needs to keep a good relationship both with the players and the Sri Lankan cricket establishment.

So Russell was in a soup, he mused for a while, I bet he was checking if his time in the commentry box is up for the next commentator to take over, at that point the batsman played a beautiful cover drive. Russell exclaimed what a beautiful shot..and went on for a while about that shot….then he said..now I hand over David Lloyd. ha ha ha legend

  • He does share the commentry
He does share the commentry box with the elites. That does not make him a member of the club.

He has a long way to go.But his Test career lets him down in the commentry box that he shares with the likes of Shane Warne, Ian Chapple, Michael Holding, Sunil Gawaskar, Rameez Raja, David Gower, Michael Atherton etc etc…Arnold is no where near them

His style is dry his voice irritating and he cannot read the game.
