A good article which needs to be brought up. I also agree Billy’s Songs as the best so far. It really amazes me how could artists who produced one of the best patriotic songs (Sri Lanka Matha by B&S) were not able to meet their standards with their world cup song.

@Sujan: Experience along can not win matches. It should be blended with young blood and that’s what the selectors have done this time. And speaking about the majority, yes the majority of Sri Lanka believed that we can win the world cup in 96 and we believe and wish that we will do it again.

Jayasuriya was competing for the openers slot with Dilshan and Tharanga and not for the number 5/6 positions. And we all know what happened. Go check your facts again with out shouting like a frog.

Sri Lanka have selected the best 15 and we Sri Lankans support these players wholeheartedly without complaining of missing players. I don’t have to go ask from 100 people as I live among them for the past 28 years and as a Sri lankan I have much more understanding about my countrymen than you do. We will mind our business. You mind yours.

If you really want, you can find some Sri lankans and complain them about the tragedy Jayasuriya is in and you will definitely get a kick on your rear side after a slap on your face. No one gives a shit.

Though the state media should
Though the state media should do what ever possible to encourage the Sri Lankan cricket team at this decisive juncture, cheap politics still plays the part of ruining the world cup preparations. All the people and media should support the team in which ever capacity but some of the “henchayiyaas” still seems lost in identifying their role. It’s rather pathetic to see this author trying miserably to wash and clean the mess that SLC has put Sri Lanka cricket in to.
