  • MDKJulius Caesar : Look man,
MDKJulius Caesar : Look man, Chandimal first gets caught in an issue where he even shouldn’t have committed it, when already the Australian’s got caught in an issue of similar sorts, and now he’s injured. Under Hathurusinghe Sri Lanka went to Barbados and won a test match no team has gone and won, won two test matches against SA, won all three formats in Bangladesh etc.. That’s all he could to the best of his ability. If you are talking about selection biasness well, he’s just a member of the selection committee as per the new arrangement.. From an objective point of view he’s rationale in sticking with certain players, what ever he’s bought to the table has been good, prior to what we were going through.. Certain selections might be not according to your taste but more than you and me he has played cricket at the top level and coached at the top level.

  • Sumathipala’s end is near!
Sumathipala’s end is near! very soon The Sports minister, the Prime minister and the President will have to intervene and put forward a constitution, end the club structure(which having 24 club teams is too much, which needs to evolve with the times), introduce a new voting mechanism or a suitable structure to carry forward SLC to the future that benefits SLC and the nation and to put in a financially viable sustainable provincial or state(e.g – Uthuru palatha, wayamba palatha, etc..) franchise cricketing structure that would produce cricketers with results for the national team, so that the National team also collectively produces results and also to evolve with the times. And SJ needs to be sacked and someone who knows what he’s doing needs to be brought in.

And what is with ‘SLC policy” to have a cricket committee, cricket manager… why is the name of the sport in the first place, related with a committee role or manager role, which doesn’t make any sense, either the cricket committee should be an advisory panel and what’s the point in having a named position as cricket manager, which is absurd…having one manager is more than enough you could have a mentor, a consultant, an advisor but at the moment the damage is greater than the result…with the so called cricket manager….

It’s high time to say to the current administration running cricket get the job done or get out!

  • @LateCut : Well, it’s like
@LateCut : Well, it’s like this even Sanga had told this to an audience in Australia. Sometimes when your playing in the team there are different characters, but just because there in your team when you head out for a team dinner sometimes in your table you might only have certain fellow team mates not the Malinga’s and Dilshan’s in your table but on the field when the matching is slipping away during a crunch time for a round the table discussion you might include the above mentioned, so it’s like that, from a cricketing perspective I believe Jayasuriya could at least to a certain extent can help Thisara Perera and if that comes off well since he’s the current Chairman of selectors Thisara’s inclusion for the National Team would be automatic provided that he performs and produces results. The only reason i suggested Jayasuriya was he’s the closes i came across for a Sri Lankan somewhat renowned all rounder. And since you have mentioned Ricky Ponting well when Michael Clarke first came into the Australian side Ponting had asked Shane Warne to mentor Clarke so that he gets familiarized with the boys and get accustomed to the surrounding. Now we all know who Shane Warne is, he was far worse than Sanath off the field and on the field, but when Clarke first joined the Australian National side Warne was his first mentor.

In regards to Jayasuriya’s selection, my personal opinion is that, i think he has the best track record for a Chairman of Selector’s in a such a short period, and no one can point the finger at him since he knows what he’s doing and yes they will be the odd mistake, the mishap, the miscommunication but overall he i know personally is one of the most committed Chairman of Selectors we have had for awhile.

  • ‪#‎As‬ Kumar Sangakkara, Sri
‪#‎As‬ Kumar Sangakkara, Sri Lanka’s golden boy don his test cap for the last time it is farewell for him, with numerous people around the world pouring in with messages. It goes to show the magnitude of the man and the player he was and while he was playing this stupid game called cricket, which he recites to an audience in one of his stupendous speeches. He and Mahela took Sri Lanka Cricket to greater heights and made us all Sri Lankans proud and inspired a whole nation to stand tall with his eloquency.
The monumental & gargantuan contribution he made to Sri Lankan Cricket both on and off the field was enormous.
Thank you Sanga for 15 years of countless sweet memories you gave us with your scintillating batting, keeping, exorbitant leadership and captaining.
Beating Australia in 2010 down under in an ODI Series was pretty special for me and among one of the few highlights in a glittering career.
May you be able to contribute to this game even more in a different capacity because cricket needs people like you.

  • Good team selection by Last
Good team selection by Last Man out…!
Maiya should open if we are chasing a steep target..
Mathews can open the bowling and bowl few early spells since he’s a clever bowler, if we are playing on a surface like SCG and towards the latter part of the World Cup the wickets would be conducive for spinners, in that instance starting the bowling with an uncanny bowler like Dilshan could be effective and would fill-up some overs and could get us some crucial wickets without much sweat.Hearth obviously would come into play when presented with wickets and conducive conditions and his experience is quintessential. Thisara should be utilised intelligently by the Captain and the think tank of the team if not he would go for runs. Lakmal would enjoy the bounce, swing and seam in surfaces like the Gabba, WACA and New Zealand pitches. Senanayake should be utilized efficiently and effectively and he could be a bowler when in full form a menace to other teams. Slinger Malinga has to find his rhythm and contribute when it matters the most and his presence is pivotal in determining Sri Lanka’s chances in moving forward. Some one has to take the hard call of dropping Karunaratne, Jevan Mendis and Kulasekera and bring in back Chandimal to be sandwiched between Sanga and Maiya and to make Thisara bat after Mathews and after Thisara, Senanayake who has a very cool head and don’t forget how he ended that match in South Africa very calmly and coolly and is a dependable later order batsman who has experience.
So all in all, all is not lost for Sri Lanka, there is a light end of the tunnel if we trod in the right path, by taking right sensible approaches and getting the best out of each and every individual and end of the day making it count so that as a team we get over that line and hopefully we might be able to lay our hands on that elusive trophy. All the Best Sri Lanka.
