Fielding and fitness are the principal key ingredients to success. Fielding rubs on each other to up to the others, the bowlers can bowl to a better plan, rewarded more and challenges batsman to be better, run between wickets better. DG and ND are 2 who are dynamic in field and behind wk. They should be in the team.

Can’t even have a single person who we have to hide in the field or who run poorly. Will upset the rhythm.

So name those who are slow in the field and those who can’t convert 1 to 2 or 2 to 3. These are your biggest problems. However important they are they can’t be in the team.

    So let’s start naming names

  • Among the major changes that
Among the major changes that will be introduced is a full-time captain taking the team through to the World Cup. Dinesh Chandimal, who was axed from the ODI series against India, has been drafted into the pool and he is likely to be handed the reins for an extended period.

  • To all those who jumped into
To all those who jumped into meaningless conclusions reading distorted media statements on what Chandimal said. Just sad. Go watch the youtube video yourself. Our culture strongly believes in spirituality and the supernatural. Either we, our families or friends have sought these kind of blessings. Unnecessary blown out of proportion.

  • I would say Dinesh Chandimal
I would say Dinesh Chandimal is up to the mark. 3 suggestions for him

    1. He needs to do a couple of seasons in England to be an all wicket player

2.need more consistency. Place price on wicket like Sang a. He has the talent

3.study a role model. He does not need to look further than Faf, what a player. Grit, determination, self belief and courage whatever the situation. You can see it in his face every single ball. Never relents

  • If CT17 was an unexpected
If CT17 was an unexpected rude shock to all but a few at the helm, Zim loss is fire in the house. Time to act.

    10 point program

1.Those at the top are rotten. Clean house and fire those at the helm. Seek help from Sid, Maiyya and Sanga.
2.Fix the domestic system.Challenge the best against the best and demote those who are not at their best and fire those political clubs.
3.We are late, but, IPL and BPL have pitted those locals against the best in the world and you can see the dramatic improvement, just look at BD
    4. Inept haphazard selectors. Need to go. The supreme idiocy of managing the vastly talented DDS is case in point.
    5. We need to have a coach who can raise the stakes, kick butt and need to be given a free rain akin to the ideal “our man in BD who was backed when he kicked THE SHAKIB and got away with it”. Fordy while good is a softy.
6.Captain needs to go.Mathews brilliant batsman and team man is a follower and not a leader. Tharanga, doing decently with bat. an improved fielder, but, I am quite vary about him leading from front as the guy is languid and lazy, go bold and rogue and make Kmenda cappy in test and ODI only(The GS Smith choice)
7.Fitness, fitness, fitness, field, field, field or go find something else to do and for gods sake don’t give lame excuses
8.Dead weights like Malinga (sorry pal ur time has come) and half trackers like seekers and TP (possible T 20 role) need to go
    9. Don’t ignore obvious talents and domestic performances. Case in point the late arrival of Gunaratne, what a find. What does Pushy need to get himself noticed?
10.Invest in young talent, back them up, please don’t kick their morale in public (like Chandi, DDS), note that its too late for WC 2019, but hopefully future will be better. DDS, Sad Sam, Avishka, Wanindu, Asalanka, Kumara, Asitha

  • Lot of the the issues that we
Lot of the the issues that we have faced are due to poor fitness, injuries like no other nations, injuries used as a get out of jail card for training. The appalling fitness has lead to poor fielding which is a key issue to morale and winning. All other nations have leapt past us and we look pathetic on the field. Maybe it’s the bewitching midnight hour but we the once proud nation are at the bottom of the food chain. If it is a spade call it a spade. Anyone in the team does not deserve a place without fitness. Just look at the commitment of Sang a at 40. If he can do it why not others? Mathews is a brilliant batsman, but not a leader of men. But why does he get prone to so many injuries. How can he lead if cannot do it by example. Are Tharanga or Chandi able to set this highly standards or should it be someone else perhaps a K Mendis. Should we follow the exemplary lead from the front captains such as Morgan, AB,Faf, Kohli or Williamson or should ours be a poor example. If Dilly and Sana could show these fitness standards why not anyone who wants to play with pride for Lanka.

  • It is important for
It is important for management to back players who they trust and believe they have the talent. Chandimal came to this tour fresh from injury and under cooked. He played quite a few rash strokes for which he has to go back to the drawing board. But, this is one of our most successful batsmen in the last 2 years, quite consistent, played brilliant test innings against India and OZ, and scored 6 / nearly 7 (7th innings out for 49) consecutive 50’s on the trot with 4 of them in the colder part of the English season. Support him and make him come out stronger. Perhaps he needs to play a couple of English seasons.
