  • He play under 10 test matches per year that is an issue for him, but playing T20 leagues all around the world that is not an issue? In a test match he can opt to bowl shorter spells and even he could have select playing few test matches. These are all false excuses by him to play for money

  • Great player but not a good role model. He is the first player from Sri Lanka who had given up playing for his country in test cricket to play T20 leagues. When someone trying to improve the team’s fitness by introducing fitness rules as a senior plater he does not support it.

  • Looking at the thread it is evident that you are the one who brings the subject of religion into this forum by saying “GOD’S PUNISHMENT FOR DISCRIMINATING THE PLAYERS AGAINST CHRISTIANITY”.

You also said, “I can write pages on Bhanuka’s born again and about the great values of that to the people who believe that”. Looking at it seems that you are a born again too and it is the reason why you only want to defend Banuka because he is of the same faith as yours

Today I have seen you have posted many anti-Sri Lankan Cricket posts. Why are you so angry about SLC suddenly?

  • What Dayasiri said is right
What Dayasiri said is right because fitness is utmost important in modern day sports, but as the minister he should have taken action rather than criticizing the players in public as mahela rightly said. As the sports minister he should also take the responsibility at the teams loss as he is also in control of the things

  • It was mentioned by Ranjan
It was mentioned by Ranjan “by nature, Tharanga is laid back and quite certainly not captaincy material”. It should be mention that Mathews is more laid back and negative in the field than Tharanga. He let Pakistan off the hook in the last match he has captained when there are more than 75 runs to get with only 3 wickets in hand without attacking and pressurizing the opponent. He Let Pakistan chase a world record score in the last day of a test and win by bowling so negatively few years back. These are only few examples. He has become a master of losing from a winning position.

Whoever the captain is he should be judged by his performance on the field, rather than by his nature. If Mathews improved as a captain in the field by yielding better results consistently he should be praised and rewarded and similar should be said about Tharanga. This kind of a statement without backing of facts was not expected from an experienced journalist like Ranjan.

  • Milinda Siriwardena, Dasun
Milinda Siriwardena, Dasun Shanaka and Jeffory Vandersay were among most promising players around and their stay in the national team was short lived despite good performances and there were no reasons given by the Captain, Coach, Selectors or the Board President for axing of these players. Yes the Captain, Coach, Selectors or the Board President have the right to select their players, if so then they have to back it up by good performance and apparently it is not happening. Like any other job if the Captain, Coach, Selectors or the Board President given the authority over the selection they should be responsible for the outcome.

  • All these are related to
All these are related to politics. Yes when sanath was the chief selector we won the T-20 world cup (But that was also under the captaincy of Malinga) and the Asia cup and we all praise his enthusiasm as a selector and a player, But he should have moved on from there without making such immature comments, We don’t know whether malinga influenced the decision to remove thiri and chandi but it is not sanath’s business to comment on these as a mature ex player.

  • We need impact players like
We need impact players like kusal + one explosive opener in our team, You can’t judge these kind of players by numbers. For a fact we did only win one match in this tournament and that is because of Kusal, what we have to do is let him play without worrying about his place in the team, that is how Jaya-Kalu played when they have given the green light to play freely by whatmore and Arjuna

What lack in out team is attacking mindset, Yes you may lose some matches initially but when it clicks it will give great results. All the great oneday teams had attacking mindset like the Sri Lankan team in 1990s, Australian team from 1999-2007, Indian team from 2007 and the current new zealand team.

Sri Lanka now play boring cricket neither which will win the matches nor entertaining
