  • The following stats support
    The following stats support Irishman’s arguments.

    Highest averages in the first 15 overs in ODIs since Jan 2008 to Jan 2011(Qual: 750 runs)

    Batsman———–Runs——–Balls—-Dismissals—–Average—–Run rate

    Hashim Amla——1152——-1196——–15———-76.80——–5.77
    Tillakaratne Dilshan==1360==1311==25===54.40===6.22
    Gautam Gambhir—-1443——1617—–28——–51.53——5.35
    Andrew Strauss—-993——-1160——20———49.65——5.13
    Shane Watson——1442——1623—–30——–48.06——5.33
    Kumar Sangakkara==945==1428==20====47.25===3.97
    Sachin Tendulkar—-873——1043—–19——–45.94——5.02
    Salman Butt———-761——-1110—–17——–44.76——4.11

    In the above analysis there’s no sign of Dilshan’s opening partner Upul Tharanga. But there’s Kumar Sangakkara. The analysis shows what a lonely hand Dilshan plays during power plays to rescue SL.

    Most important thing to learn from the analysis is that SL have TWO POWER PLAY KILLERS in the name of Kumar Sangakkara & Upul Thranga. Look at what’s Kumar’s RUN RATE & compare it to Dilshan. Tharanga haven’t even made the list. This kind of selfish batting by Kumar & Tharanga puts added pressure on batsman to come & batsman already on the ground such as Dilshan & maybe Mahela.

    Because of the slow scorers Dilshan, Mahela & Anjelo & rest have to play catch-up cricket to take SL to a winning position by scoring fast runs in the remaining overs.

  • I too believe that SLC should
    I too believe that SLC should have told them that you’re not our WC plans instead giving them hope to carry on. This omission has brought our colorful champion cricket legends’ to disgrace. Especially for Vaas. I felt that legendary Sanath should have retired after that miserable T20 performance.

  • Hahaha very funny Hilal. When
    Hahaha very funny Hilal. When I saw the title and saw the background of the video I thought it can’t really be the best catch in the history since these guys in the background is not known for their fielding… and then I saw the video and saw the funny side. lol

  • Mahanama was a prolific
    Mahanama was a prolific batsman in early 1990s opening the batting. Loved watching him. His off drives, onn drives, cover drives, the leg glances, the cuts and in general any shot in the book was brilliant to watch. So technical and beautiful.
