in the last ODI against new zealand, the top run scorers in 2012 were shown. apart from the big three of SL even chandimal was on the list. But the sri lankan selectors are going for lahiru ahead of chandimal, whereas there have been very few instances where he has shown resilience. I think the sri lankan selectors are responsible for these erroneous decision. i agree that sending a team to australia without mahela,sanga and dilshan would be a howler. In fact the youngsters would be so overburdened they wont even be able to perform. occasionally resting them would be a better option than evicting them

sanga has just won 3 ICC
sanga has just won 3 ICC awards last yr. So the part of kicking him out of the team seems unreasonable. however SLC can rest some players for unimportant series like the NZ one going on.

I guess the problem lies in
I guess the problem lies in the sri lankan selectors. For eg: in the new zealand series i dont understand why dilshan,sanga and mahela were even picked. they could have rested them and played with youngsters like chandimal and munaweera. even malinga should have been rested and eranga should get some games. even dananjaya is not getting a chance.

Maybe sanga called down a bit
Maybe sanga called down a bit too early. if he stayed for at least a year angelo could be trained for filling in his big boots. but dilshan’s captaincy is just not justified. the world cup is just over why not experiment. give the captaincy to upul or mathews just for a tour and check. in anycase sanga would be there to guide him as well as mahela. they are not just running away!!!. this puts added burden on dilshan and he may lose his batting confidence which would affect the already fragile lankan batting order which was heavily dependent on mahela,sanga and dilshan
