Good news for Srilanka.
This is the greatest news I have seen in this forum. Cos Dasun Shanaka was in my WC squad from day one for one of the major reasons. He is the only batting all rounder we have who could add fire power to our team during the late 10 to 15 overs. Both Udana & Thisara (and even Jeewan) are bowling all rounders and can be considered as late order sloggers whose batting technique is not that perfect to be considered as a batsman. Other reason for Dasun is he has the highest sixes rate of around 30 % (runs scored in sixes) and it is even greater than that of Thisara.
I think with the latest developments like Dasun Shanaka’s inclusion as well as De Mel considering to add Banuka Rajapaksa in to the mix, has given a tremendous boost to our batting strength and I am sure with the addition of having three reliable century makers like Dimuth, Lahiru and Mathews in the line up we will definitely be able to perform well this time targeting for a place to play the semi finals.
Daniel, can you please update with the latest situation.? As I couldn’t find this piece of news during my search in the web.
