This is a challenge I am afraid as I believe all players need a NOC to play in premier leagues. Before we all get excited lets not forget the BCCI does not issue ANY NOCs for Indian players and they have one of the most successful recipes.
What I cannot work out is what happens with a player like Tissera Perera who has retired from SLC. What is the point in denying him a NOC? Also, not sure how the Windies players managed this as they fell out with the WICB years ago and don’t think they were all given NOCs.
My take is if it’s in the best interest of the country, a NOC may be denied. The problem is this may not always be in the best interest of the player and can SLC be trusted to make sound judgements about much more than looting?
