Good win and much needed. Nice to see young batters from both sides make an impression but Avi has been a sensation since been given a chance. The reality is Avi should be opening the innings with Kusal Perera to give us the best chance to compete and match up with the rest of the world.
Cannot believe we went with Thiri as first choice while this guy sat on the bench and now that he has done something, lets please stick with him even if he fails the next series (we should have done the same with Kusal Perera!!!). Very impressed on how Avi handled the short ball. Ironically I felt it should have been Oshada Fernando who make the squad ahead of Avi – now we should play both Fernando’s at the top of the order. Yes this means we need to find a new captain too!
