  1. WHY PLAY CHANDIMAL AFTER DROPPING KUSAL JANITH ?

Once again our middle order batsmen failed to capitalize on a great start given by the openers (with an opening partnership of 96 runs) after which they lost 4 wickets for only 31 runs. Chandimal’s selection in place of Kusal Janith who had done extremely well during his last 6 tests (including a great knock of 152 runs in SA this year) is a mystory. Asantha de Mel and Dimuth K are the main culprits in bringing in a totally out of form Chandimal in to the team by dropping Kusal J. Any kid who knows little on cricket will laugh at the way Chandimal was playing a wrong, cross bat shot to one of the slowest deliveries of the day (i.e.128 kph) when he gifted his wicket. He was unable to defend even that kind of a slow delivery where he played a wrong line. When majority of their seamers were touching over 140 kph how can Chandimal defend those quick deliveries even for survival.

Kusal Janith must replace Chadimal in the second test, unless the latter scores at least a half century (as he has done prior to 18th November 2018 during his peak form) in the second inning.

MICKEY ARTHUR’S IMMEDIATE RESPONSE / ACTION IN ADVISING OUR TOUR SELECTORS AND THE CAPTAIN ON THEIR WRONG TEAM SELECTION POLICIES (At least for the 2nd test) IS MOST WELCOME. OUR BATSMEN NEED YOUR ADVICES ON HOW TO AVOID PLAYING & NICKING AT WIDE DELIVERIES.

If SL cannot score 350 / 400 runs after their great start and batting first, they are simply throwing away the chance they have on winning this test.
