The Commonwealth Bank Series 2012, which features India, Sri Lanka and hosts Australia, will be launched with Cricket Australia hosting a free breakfast for cricket fans on February 4 at the Observatory Forecourt in the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne.
"The Commonwealth Bank-hosted breakfast will see members of the Australian men’s and women’s cricket team mix with fans in a signing and photo session and get behind the BBQ to help cook breakfast," a statement from Cricket Australia said.
Michael Clarke, Ricky Ponting and Mike Hussey are a few of the big names expected to participate.
All attendees will enjoy a complimentary BBQ breakfast from 10am – 11am.
Hosted by MC Peter Lazer, the cricketers will participate in a question and answer session in addition to helping cut a giant 100th birthday cake to celebrate the Commonwealth Bank’s Centenary Year.
Cricket Australia has also invited fans to dress up at matches to win great prizes, including a trip for four people to the Caribbean for “Best Dressed of the Series”. Fans are encouraged to get into the “Classic Day Out” spirit by donning dress up gear for their chance to win tickets to the match the following day.
In an extra draw-card, fans who attend the breakfast will have the chance to get some great give-aways including mini cricket bats, fan banners and helium balloons, all of which they’ll be able to have signed by the attending players.
Tickets are still available for the Commonwealth Bank Series. For more information, please go to www.cricket.com.au for tickets and competition details.
