Tour match between England and Sri Lanka Cricket XI ends in a draw

Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope hit second innings half centuries for the visiting Englishmen in their 1st Tour Match against the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) XI, as the match ended in a tame draw at the Marians Cricket Grounds in Katunayake on Monday(09).

Resuming the day on 39/1 in their second innings, most England batsmen spent valuable time in the middle with Crawley and Pope making the best use of the opportunity.

Crawley looked at ease against a fairly inexperienced SLC XI bowling attack, as he struck 17 fours in his 91 runs which came off just 99 balls. Pope took his time and hit only six fours in his knock of 77 before he was trapped in front by right arm seamer Kavishka Anjula…
