Williamson praises Sri Lanka captain Karunaratne’s ‘patient’ batting

Kane Williamson said the way Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne batted patiently for 122 showed the New Zealanders how batting needed to be approached in Galle.

“Personally I was looking to be a little bit too positive when it wasn’t really required. In hindsight that wouldn’t have been the option,” he said.

It wasn’t to be, and the guys who were a much more patient were a lot more successful. There’s a lot for all of us to learn from,” Williamson added.
