  1. 2021 for SL has finally brought some ‘hope’ on the horizon which looked shades of grey for a few years as we grappled with trying to play white ball cricket with Chandi and waiting for Anji to lead us in to battle! 2021 saw some youngsters finally making an impression in both red and white ball. Pathum and Wanindu top the hopes for me and I hope both will blossom in to all forms of cricket. The emergence of Chameera as a genuine fast bowler along with Ramesh Mendis and Jayawickrema as genuine wicket takers has added to this hope. Been waiting for along time to Asalanka to come to the party and he has (still needs to tighten his technique for tests) and could be a real wild card for us as he can bat, bowl and has leadership skills. There’s more, I thought Chamika Karu and Teekshana offered some real talent to be harnessed and of course we still have guys like Lahiru Kumara and Kusal Mendis to work with. So finally there is hope and I hope part of that hope is saying good bye to some!
