Sri lanka qualify for the Semi-Finals as Rajapaksa 131, Wickramasinghe 111 flay Nepal attack in Sri Lanka’s 60-run win

Sri Lanka continued their winning streak in the Asia Cup Under-19 Championship by registering a 60-run win over Nepal at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The Lankans went on a run riot amassing 322 for just 4 wickets fronted by two centuries by No.3 Sadisha Rajapakse who clobbered 131 off 114 balls inclusive of 11 boundaries and 2 sixes, and opening batsman Chamindu Wickramasinhe who made 111.

Wickramasinghe hit 8 boundaries and 2 sixes. The pair shared in a record 223-run partnership for the second wicket in 32.5 overs in the record total off 50 overs. Skipper Dumith Wellalage chipped in with an unbeaten 34 off 24 balls containing 3 boundaries and a six.

Nepal replied with 262 off 47.5 overs, but found the massive target too overwhelming. Arjun Saudi top scored with 64 off 80 balls while Bibe Basir Jadav made 46 off 29, Basir Ahamed 43 off 51 and Santosh Krki a run a ball 34. The wicket takers for Sri Lanka U19 were Raveen Silva 3 for 35 and Metheesha Patìrana 3 for 49.
