Sri Lanka become first men's team to incur new over-rate penalty

Sri Lanka were allowed only four fielders outside the 30-yard circle for the final over of Australia’s innings in the second T20I in Sydney, as they became the first men’s side to be penalised under the ICC’s new over-rates rules for T20Is.

  1. This is definitely a bad report card for the captain Dasun. He should have controlled playing time during the inning. (like getting the players to change places quickly between the overs). I have seen the Aussie keeper and other close in players players were slowly running instead of walking between the overs. Finally this resulted in a very crucial last over (bowled by the inexperienced Thushara) with only 4 fielders outside the ring. He conceded 17 runs in that over including a 4 & a 6 scored in the area where the fielder was taken out. Poor captaincy.
