The funeral of former cricketer, KDCA and CPCA official Aubrey Kuruppu will take place on Monday at 4 pm at the General cemetery in Borella. A product of S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavinia who played in the mid 1960s, Kuruppu earned a name in Kandy as a coach and administrator. He was a left-hand bat, right-arm off break and googly bowler who also played for the Peradeniya University team with distinction.He represented the Sri Lanka Board President’s team versus Tamil Nadu in 1972 in the Gopalan Trophy and toured India with the State Services team in 1972.
