Ruwantha – fifth Lankan to play in Sheffield Shield

Former Sri Lanka Club Cricket all rounder Ruwantha Kellapotha became only the fifth Sri Lankan to represent an Australian State team in Sheffield Shield Cricket competition, the premier first-class Cricket Tournament in Australia recently. The 31-year-old former St Thomas College Matale Cricketer represented Victoria in their shield game against Western Australia at Junction Oval from October 17-20 . He dismissed top scorers Cameron Bancroft (100) and D’Arcy Short (87) on his debut for 122 runs after sending down 26.2 overs with his leg spin.
