Playing for SSC was the best thing that happened to me: Mahela

Former Sri Lanka cricket captain and SSC stalwart Mahela Jayawardene who was honoured by the club for being inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame on Thursday, said that playing for SSC was the best thing that happened to him.

“Playing for SSC with that group of players like Arjuna Ranatunga, Marvan Atapattu, Asanka Gurusinha and Pramodya Wickremasinghe, I grew very fast as a cricketer and I’ve learnt a lot. SSC is like a second home to me.
