Parliamentary committee calls for Police probe into corruption at Sri Lanka Cricket

It was revealed that the SLC had to suffer a loss of Rs 3.1 billion in granting international televised and radio broadcasting rights to Taj TV, the Dubai-based owners of the leading sports channel Ten Sports.

The Parliamentary Committee On Public Enterprises, is recommending that a complaint be lodged at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to inquire into the tenders for international televised and radio broadcasting rights at Sri Lanka Cricket.

The recommendation was made by the COPE when the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) was summoned before the committee yesterday to inquire about alleged corruption at SLC.

It was revealed that the SLC had to suffer a loss of Rs 3.1 billion in granting international televised and radio broadcasting rights to Taj TV, the Dubai-based owners of the leading sports channel Ten Sports.

  1. Thieves asking the cops to probe the robbers! This joke must come to an end and all politicians need to get out of SLC once and for all. Of course, where there is money the they will arrive like vultures, plunder us blind and then call for a probe. How many probes have we had in the past at the each change in Government with absolutely no action? This joke must stop!
