Malinga was the best T20 bowler I ever faced – Rahul Dravid

“I think the hardest T20 bowler I have faced would have to be Malinga. If you look at Malinga’s ability to execute the yorker and the slower one absolutely at will was brilliant. So, I think Malinga was the best T20 bowler I faced. Bumrah is really good at the moment but I didn’t play Bumrah. He is almost like a younger version of Malinga”

  1. When you look at the way Malinga has performed in recent matches I think he is the best option we have for the initial burst of 5 overs and at least 3 death overs. However he has to concentrate more on bowling more and more yoker length deliveries and avoid short pitched bowling in the future T20 & ODI matches he will play before the WC. I am wondering whether it was a good idea to pressurize him with captaincy burden (in T2) matches) instead of giving him the full freedom as a player to iron out few mistakes in his bowling since he will not be in the plans for the WC captaincy,

  2. Malinga for me was the all time best white ball bowler but also worth noting he was a trail blazer. Much like Jayasuirya did with the bat, Malinga revolutionized white ball bowling. There will be others (just like Sana) but Malinga was the first.
