Rajasthan Royals director of cricket – Kumar Sangakkara joins the team in UAE ahead of the second phase of IPL 2021. Sangakkara’s news of the team joining came via Rajasthan Royals (RR) social media post. The former Sri Lankan player will straightaway go into mandatory six-day quarantine at the team hotel- JA Jebel Ali Beach Hotel and Resort.
Sangakkara was appointed as the director of cricket of Rajasthan Royals (RR) in January this year. As a part of this position, the 43-year old is responsible for overseeing the entire cricketing ecosystem of the Royals franchise, including coaching structure, auction plans and team strategy, talent discovery and overall development of the franchisee.
