Half centuries by Anmolpreet Singh, Siddhesh Lad and Srikar Bharat helped India A extend their lead to 273, after bowling out Sri Lanka A for 212 earlier on Day 2 of the second unofficial Test, in Hubli.
Having resumed the day on 87 for 4, Sri Lanka lost the wicket of Niroshan Dickwella early in the morning. Much like Dickwella, who fell on 39, Priyamal Perera – the other overnight batsman – too missed out on a half-century. However, even as India A kept picking wickets at regular intervals to ensure none of the partnerships prospered, Kamindu Mendis stroked a 68 to take Sri Lanka 57 runs short of India A’s first innings score.
