  1. The question here is what will the selectors do when he has his first failure? He is only 21 and will no doubt have failures and if the selectors do what they have done with so many other youngsters, which move them up and down the order and then drop and recall, another star will fade away. My call is – keep him in the team no matter what!

    • @stormy Agree with you. The selectors and SLC executive committee has completely mismanaged selections for the last 4-5 years. Avishka was thrown into the Sri Lanka side from the U19 level and was given one game against Australia in 2016 and discarded for three years after being given a solitary match. Both Sanath Jayasuriya and Graeme Labrooy were terrible chief selectors and the officials who managed these selection panels were equally incompetent and unintelligent. This is the general trend in Sri Lanka – everything is chaotic and no decisions are consistently rational ones or backed by data or facts.
