“As the Brand Ambassador for the Hemas Outreach foundation, I invited former Sri Lanka cricketers Chaminda Vaas and Rangana Herath to attend this event and I thank them for joining us,” Mahanama, who was a member of Sri Lanka’s 1996 World Cup winning team and an ICC match referee, said of the event.

“Together we were able to collect more than 500 gifts for this occasion and some of these gifts have been sent to the families of the victims of the Zion Church in Batticaloa,” Mahanama added.

“Let us as Sri Lankans come together without any racial disparity, to help one another, share their joys and sorrows and celebrate a peaceful Christmas.”
