Mathews may not get a game in India T20 series, says Sri Lanka’s chief selector

Leaving out all-rounder Angelo Mathews in the final eleven for the first T-20I was the team management’s unanimous decision, according to Ashantha de Mel, the Sri Lanka team manager.

“Mathews has not enough practice of bowling and therefore we all three decided him not to play him in the first match,” de Mel, who is also the tour selector, added.

Captain (Lasith Malinga), Coach (Mickey Arthur) and the team manager are the tour selectors.

“We are not sure whether Mathews would play in any of the remaining two matches.”

  1. Still these idiots are changing the batting order way too much. Nowadays our team can’t score 500 in Test or 300 in ODIs or 150 even in T20s and selectors can’t realise they are to blame. Same opening batsmen should play every match. Pick one player to bat at No3 and don’t keep changing!!!
