Is Dhananjaya de Silva likely to be dropped from World Cup Squad?

The Morning Sports reports that Sri Lanka’s seasoned top-order batsman Dhananjaya de Silva, nicknamed DDS, is most likely to be ousted from the first-15 players of the Sri Lanka World Cup squad according to a highly-placed Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) source.

However, the news is NOT yet officially confirmed…

  1. Dhananjaya de Silva isn’t a T20 batsman. If he can bowl at least 2- 3 economical overs per a match he can be considered as a bowling all-rounder as we are lack of much international experience in the current squad. Anyway, credibility of the above news is doubtful.

  2. I must admit wasn’t convinced with DDS in white ball cricket but then he put up a few performances before the SA. Also, he is an allrounder and with some key experienced guys missing, he seemed like a reasonable call for the SA tour but man he looked poor in those games.

I sincerely hope the part on commitment is fake news as this is the sort of cancer that we have been cursed with in recent time.
