Chandimal wants to play all three formats

Dinesh Chandimal

The COVID-19 pandemic may have temporarily stalled Dinesh Chandimal’s bid to cement his place in the national side after making a successful return to Test cricket in December.

Unfazed by this setback, the former Sri Lanka captain is confident of representing the country in all three formats of the game once again when normalcy returns.

The last few months have been a rollercoaster ride for Chandimal. After being sidelined for seven months, he scored a gritty half-century against Pakistan on his return to the Test team. 1. No he can’t and we should stop having these meaningless discussion on guys like Chandi playing white ball cricket. If anyone missed the reason, we tried this and look where we are now! We cannot keep doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. This would be like Alistar Cook or Dean Elgar saying “I want to play all 3 formats” – it just makes no sense and SL have been plagued by this warped thinking over the last few years and need to move on. Chandi must play test cricket period – and that is another discussion we need to stop having, he must play in the test side.
