Mickey Arthur’s coaching methods aren’t for the faint hearted. Who else would drop of all people Shane Watson from a Test match for not doing his homework?

Yesterday as Sri Lanka’s players went outdoors to do fitness sessions at Colombo Cricket Club grounds, more than a few of them struggled and skipper Dimuth Karunaratne needed to be treated for a heat stroke.

“It was a bit of a struggle as we were doing running sessions after some times. Muscles were not probably ready. My eating habits and training during lock down were just fine but I couldn’t manage it as we started fitness sessions this morning. I got a heat stroke,” Karunaratne told The Island after the training session.
