Three centuries followed by a strong bowling performance tormented touring Sri Lanka A as they face a steep task after being reduced to 83 for four, trailing by 539, at the conclusion of the second day of the 1st unofficial Test in Belgaum, India.
Sri Lanka ‘A’ starting their innings towards the gigantic score, suffered a woeful start losing their openers, and Bhanuka Rajapaksa. Southpaw Sangeeth Cooray, entered and exited swiftly, with a duck. His partner, Pathum Nissanka, too, joined for a half-a-dozen, off the bowling of Shivam Dube.
Dube delivered the double-trouble removing Rajapaksa for another duck. Sri Lankan innings looked in sheer shambles. However, a quick rescue act, breathed a bit of life, pausing the procession. That didn’t last-long as Sadeepa Samarawickrama succumbed to Sandeep Warrior, gifting his second. Eventually, it was Captain Ashan Priyanranjan and gloveman Niroshan Dickwella, who saw the team through sans losing anymore wickets.
