Beleaguered Sri Lanka arrive in Australia

Staring at a string of losses, weighed down by history and missing key personnel, Sri Lanka arrive in Australia giving their best impression of lambs to the slaughter. On Saturday, the Lions crossed the Tasman, reflecting on a disastrous tour of New Zealand, offering few glimmers of hope they’d push Australia in a two-Test series. The tour ended on an appropriate note, capitulating in a run chase to lose the one-off Twenty20 international by 35 runs on Friday night at Eden Park.

  1. Sure SL have issues and major one’s but so does Australia and I would go so far as say this is probably the best chance SL has to beat Australia at home. On previous tours, the Aus have lined up far too stronger than the Lankans but not this time. Aus will win and easily as I don’t see the SL batters handling the 3 pronged pace attack. However, the Aus batting is all over the place and could give SL a sniff provided they bowl well. Predicting a 2-0 win to the Aussies but a hint of an opportunity for SL if there enough fire in the belly.

  2. Unfortunately this is the best opportunity we have got after a loooong time to beat Aus in Aus. Aussies will be trying with new combinations so the opportunity will be there as they will be a bit nervous and playing for a place in the team. Hope out guy will be able to capitalize! I would say 1-0 to Australia.
