Angelo Mathews determined to play in all three formats

Sri Lanka’s 32-year-old all rounder Angelo Mathews is spending his good time in the gym, according to one the support staff members of the Sri Lanka team, now in Harare.

“He has become more health conscious. He has lost about 6-7 kg.of wight. He is strictly following diet chart. This is because he is determined to play long and also wants to play in all three formats of the game.”

It is not known whether the former captain has ambitions to lead the side again…

  1. Great to see Anji finally impacting the result of a series with performance in both games but my call is just make sure you are on the park and keep performing at test level. Last time he got a hundred, he went on to show his colors with push ups and promptly got injured and missed the next series! Its time to accept that this guy is injury prone but he still has a good 5 years of international cricket left in him so lets make sure he spends most of it on the park and not off it! Test cricket is the way to ensure that as opposed to trying to play all formats and being on the bench. What’s more has his game adapted to limited overs cricket where 300+ is par?
