Wholesale changes to Sri Lanka’s test outfit

Pathum Nissanka

Another series loss, this time to an inexperienced Pakistan side. We were dominated by  2 teenagers and a 32 year old debutant. This could be due to only 2 reasons. The recent improvement in their FC system and the outdated one of ours. Doesn’t matter if we whitewash top class sides if we cannot keep that consistency. The best example is India. They won every test they played at home this year. Winning home tests is crucial if Sri Lanka wants to progress in the Test Championship. To do that they need to be consistent. The upcoming Zimbabwe & Ireland tours will be a great chance to test our FC talent. In my opinion Sri Lanka is yet to play its strongest team in terms of the longest format of the game.
