KARACHI: Senior Pakistan wicketkeeper batsman, Kamran Akmal has withdrawn from the Lanka Premier League (LPL), which begins in Hambantota on November 26.
As per a source close to the veteran cricketer, after examining the MRI reports on Friday, doctors advised Kamran Akmal to have three weeks of rest to prevent a “neck spasm” from aggravation.
Akmal was earlier scheduled to leave for Sri Lanka on Friday.
Akmal also missed the Pakistan Super League eliminator on November 14 in Karachi due to stiffness in his neck.
His side Peshawar Zalmi lost that must-win encounter to Lahore Qalandars by five wickets.
The experienced wicketkeeper batsman was to represent Dambulla Hawks in the LPL.
