Questionable selections
Why were players like Chandimal and Thisara Perera selected into this squad? Chandimal’s strike rate is only 65.9 in ODI matches since January 2017. He has an obvious inability to rotate strike. Thisara Perera’s persistent selection in the ODI team is a complete mystery.
Why were such impact players like Kusal Janith, Dhananjaya De Silva, and Avishka Fernando were dropped from the side?

If the Cricket Selection Committee is headed by someone as incompetent and regressive-minded as Pramodya Wickremesinghe, Sri Lanka might not even feature in the next ODI world cup.
KJP, Avishka and Dhanjaya were injured or failed fitness test right. And how it is a fault of a selection committee on playing 11 selection. Doesn’t captain and coach select playing 11?
Quite contrary to what this writer says Wickremasinghe has done a good job so far.He has taken decisive steps boldly which Demel failed to do.He dropped Dickwella & Thisara from the team.Thisara was brought back because of lack of players in the bubble due to Mathews unexpected return. Chandimal is replacing a worse player than him, Dickwella.This writer does not know any cricket of course blaming Promadaya why KJP& Dananjaya were not included.
