  1. Dhananjaya will have a tough fight with two other all rounders for the no 6 position. As both Thisara and Udana are bowling all rounders (for no 7 and 8) a batting all rounder will be the ideal solution for the no 6 position, but as Dhananjaya is not a power hitting all rounder he may loose in the battle with the other two bowling all rounders as both of them are power hitters and did very well in yesterdays matches. This is all happening due to the unfortunate injury issue of Dasun Shanaka. Otherwise the no 6 position would have been grabbed by Dasun for sure.

I think Kasun Rajithas selection is not yet decided. Dushmantha Chameera also bowled well yesterday.

  2. We need a batsman who can bowl 5-6 overs or even 10 overs. I don’t know how much we can rely on Danushka Gunathilaka’s bowling in international level. As Dhananjaya de Silva is a better bowler than a part time spinner he could have been a handy option if he is in-form with the bat. Unfortunately, Dhananjaya batting form is not so great in ODIs recently. I’m not sure if we have a better batting allrounder to replace Dhananjaya in the squad.
