What has Dinesh Chandimal done after Sanga/Mahela retired (Must Read)

List below is the stats of Chandimal after Sanga/Mahela retired from SL cricket (Stats after 2015 world cup)-

Matches 10, Runs 821 and Average is 48.29.
After Sanga and Mahela retired Sri Lanka won 3 test matches and Chandimal heavily contributed to 2 Test wins out of the 3. He was named as man of the match for one test win and he scored 150+ in the other test match, He was the highest run getter in NZ tour. Also he was the highest Asian test run scorer in 2015. So he has perfectly filled one void created by Sanga and Mahela. I think stats reveal everything. So you can’t deny the fact that he has been the no1 test batsmen after Sanga/Mahela retired till now for SL cricket.
Matches 12, Runs 309 and Average is 44.14.
After Sanga/Mahela retired, Chandimal Average 44.14 in 2015, 2nd highest average in ODI team and he has played few match winnings knocks against Pakistand tour.  Not to disrespect Mahela but highest average Mahela has gained for a calendar year is 46.90. So it is again very clear that the Chandimal has strongly filled the gap created by Sanga/Mahela duo.
LD Chandimal
Matches 15, Runs 329 and Average is 23.50.

His T20 stats do not look promising averaging 24 and SR is 110.
So anyway, my point is-
It’s not Chandimal who should take the responsibility of SL cricket failure, and it’s not happening after Sanga and Mahela retired, we had not been playing better cricket even when they play for SL . We lost to SA,NZ etc when they both were playing for SL team, we never did well in 2015 one day world cup tour, even if you check the 2014 T20 world cup stats, Sanga scored only 71 runs playing 6 matches in that world T20 tournament.  It’s the bowlers who made the difference.
Now you guys really expect this team to perform any better after they loosing world most dangerous T20 bowler Lasith Malinga, one of the most dangerous T20 batsmen Kusal Perera, two world class batsmen Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawarda, and banning the most effective T20 bowler Sachithra, also don’t forget Nuwan Kulasekara was the No1 T20 bowler at that time… .So please ! It’s not Chandimal who is failing it’s the whole team failing and totally a bad days for SL cricket and it’s not the first time this is happening, after 1996 world cup we did exceptionally bad in 1999 world cup. Do not forget we lost to Kenya in 2003, Mahela never scored a double digit score in 2003 world cup playing all the matches. Sangakkara has only scored 1 century in his first 100 ODI matches averaging below 29…list will go on-
Guys be patient !
