One win away from first series win in Australia

Kumar Sangakkara’s men are just one win away from creating history. Sri Lanka have never won a series down under and this Sri Lanka’s best chance to acheive that feat.

A win in Sydney on Friday will send Sri Lanka 2-0 up in the series and hand Australia yet another defeat.

Besides the series win, Sri Lanka also have a good chance of climbing up the ODI rankings ladder and oust India to secure the second spot.

Much counts on this win.

Sri Lanka will have to think hard about their batting line up and must seriously consider making changes. Mahela Jayawardene must open the batting.

Chamara Silva has to pay the consequences for the senseless way he threw his wicket away. In my opinion, Chamara Kapugedera should make his way into the team in place of Silva or we should bring in Jeevan Mendis.

Kulasekara must also be replaced with the in-form Dilhara Fernando.

We must play our best combination irrespective of the result from the previous game.

Australians are a pretty dejected bunch now and the time is right to bury them.

Listen to this from Michael Clarke:

"It’s a weird feeling to be honest," said Clarke.

"Obviously I’m very disappointed, asking myself a lot of questions of what I could have done better, if I could have bowled someone at a different time."

"I’m disappointed to only make 20 with the bat when I was hitting the ball well."

"I don’t think we made enough runs on a pretty good wicket, but in saying that we had them 8-107."

"To lose a game from that position is very disappointing."

"What hurts the most is it’s not the first time it’s happened."
