Jayawardena and Sangakkara becoming a liability for Kings XI Punjab

Mahela and Kumar were at the wicket. Punjab needed 30 to win off 17 balls. Mahela hits it straight in the air trying to bee too cute and looses his wicket.

Six balls later Sangakkara does the same; He tries to cut a ball pitching on leg stump off a skidder like Kumble!

Their performances in the 2009 IPL is most definitely not what the Punjabi franchise paid Sangakkara $700,000 for, or what Punjab paid Mahela $475,000 for.

Punjab are at number four now in the points table having played six and lost three.

Mahela Jayawardena who is having a miserable IPL so far, has a highest score of 31. Sangakkara has had a better time with the bat with a best of 60 runs.

It’s looking inevitable now. If Mahela is to fail again Punjab will probably drop him.
