If the wickets spin like this I’m going to enjoy the rest of the tournament – Muralitharan at the IPL

Muttiah Muralitharan picked up the man of the match award in match five of the Indian Premier League tournament. Murali’s 3-11 dealt a crushing 92 run defeat to Kevin Pietersen’s Royal Challengers.

Pietersen was incidentally dismissed for a first ball duck in just the 3rd ball of Murali’s first over. A ball later Murali bamboozled Uthappa with a big Doosra, and Dhoni took care of the rest. Dhoni picked the Doosra right off Murali’s hand, and took the bails off in a flash. A worrying sign if you look at it from a Sri Lankan perspective. It won’t be long before opposition players will be able to pick Ajantha Mendis and Muralitharan off the hand.

Muralitharan was awarded

the man of the match award for his 4 -1- 11-3 (OMRW). "If the wickets spin like this I’m going to enjoy the rest of the tournament," quipped Murali at the post match presentation.
